CEBU City Mayor Michael Rama wants nationally-funded road repairs to be invested in north district roads and not in the south district.
Rama told the Department of Public Works and Highways Central Visayas office (DPWH 7) to use the realigned funds for a flyover project in barangay San Nicolas to be used to repair dilapidated” and “pothole ridden” roads in the north district.
Part of the appropriation should also be used for the completion of the M. Velez Road widening project and in repairing roads in the North Reclamation Area, said Rama in a July 26 letter to DPWH regional director Ador Canlas.
Last week Rama said he was disgusted when he found out that the realigned flyover budget will be used in the road repair of the Cebu-Guadalupe Road, Tupas Street, M. Velez Street, Katipunan Street., V. Rama Avenue and Tres de Abril Street.
He questioned why these roads are being repaired when these are in good condition./Correspondent Edison delos Angeles
