22 vessels cancel trips from Cebu

At least 22 vessels decided to cancel their trips from the port of Cebu because of rough seas as of 1 p.m. yesterday.

The ships were set to sail for different parts of Bohol province, Ormoc City and other parts of Leyte, Aklan and Iloilo.

The Coast Guard advised shipping companies not to sail due to rough seas outside the Mactan Channel caused by the habagat or southwest monsoon and tropical storm Gener, said Rolando Punzalan, commander of the Cebu Coast Guard Station.

Stranded passengers were minimal as most of them were walk-in customers who decided to go home after knowing the weather situation.

Ocean Fast Ferries Corporation announced the cancellation of their trips to Tagbilaran and other destinations.
