‘Gener’ leaves 1 dead – NDRRMC

MANILA, Philippines – Tropical storm “Gener” has left one dead and thousands affected in five provinces, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said on Monday.

NDRRMC identified the casualty as 33-year-old Ronald Necor of Bugasong town in Antique, who died from drowning.

The total number of families affected was 2,736, or 13,742 persons in Cental Luzon, Mimaropa and Western Visayas.

Meanwhile, 2,600 families or 12,933 persons were served inside and outside evacuation centers.

A total of five roads and bridges were closed to traffic as of Sunday – two roads in Benguet, one in Mountain Province, one in Ifugao, one bridge and one road in Palawan, and one bridge in Occidental Mindoro.
