‘Value for money homes for Cebu’

With only eight people as staff including family members, Pacific Land Ventures and Property Development Inc. managed to secure two subdivision projects under its belt in its five years of operations.

The company’s general manager Dennis Quiokeles said he and his family set up the business with the goal of offering a reasonable, better housing alternative for families.

Barely months after they opened, the company launched its first project, the Pueblo El Grande (Grand Village) in Tayud, Consolacion Cebu City in 2007, that lies in a 3.2-hectare prime residential area.

“The opportunity was there in Consolacion at that time, Quiokeles said.

His staff then included his wife as marketing manager and his sister as accounting and finance manager.

Now they have a hundred people working on their latest project, the Mactan Plains in the Quezon national highway in Lapu-Lapu City.

A 2.3 hectare residential development, Quiokeles said it will be launched on Aug. 15 this year.

“We’re proud to say that we were very transparent to our clients and homeowners, they can visit us and ask about their units,” Quiokeles said.

The Mactan Plains subdivision offers 142 units with about three house model options.

Adopting an Asian-inspired architectural design, Mactan Plains subdivision is divided into two phases with phase one being offered to the market.

“As Cebuanos we prioritize value-for-money,” Quiokeles said.

Amid their expansion, Quiokeles said they want to “critically manage their growth” by taking care of their people which they consider to be the company’s best asset.

“Expand and grow, you don’t wanna lose your soul while expanding…you have to recognize that your best asset is the manpower that you have, the plan is to hire good competent, ethical people that are response to the market’s needs,” he said.
