AFTER the big weekend fire in barangay Tejero, Cebu City had another one this week.
About 130 houses went up in flames in sitio Trinidad, barangay Punta Princesa, where houses of light materials are cramped together.
Five narrow alleys leading to the interior of the sitio gave firefighers a hard time. Only one person could pass there at a time, said Cebu City Fire Marshall Aderson Cumar.
He said fire victims jostled in panic to grab the water hose and direct it to their homes, and his men had a difficult time connecting the length of the hose to firetrucks.
The alarm was raised 5:44 pm and the fire was put under control after one hour and 32 minutes.
The cause of the fire has still to be verified./Correspondent Edison Delos Angeles
