Parks sees action today
Games Wednesday (Araneta Coliseum)
1 p.m. – UST vs NU
3 p.m. – UE vs UP
MUCH-HYPED rookie wingman Bobby Ray Parks will finally get his chance to flaunt his skills as he leads the National University Bulldogs today against the University of Sto. Tomas Growling Tigers in the 74th UAAP basketball tournament at the Araneta Coliseum.
Parks is the prodigious son of former seven-time PBA Best Import awardee Bobby Parks, who made waves in the offseason after leading the Bulldogs to the crown in the Fr. Martin Cup. His eligibility was also the center of attraction before the UAAP season began as it was questioned by several quarters of the league. However, Parks was cleared for takeoff after the school was able to submit the documents that proved his eligibility.
Parks joins imposing center Emmanuel Mbe on the squad, which also features the blossoming Joseph Terso and Glenn Khobuntin.
UST, on the other hand, will still be bannered by Jeric Teng who will play alongside Jeric Fortuna, Carmelo Afuang and Chris Camus.
The second game will feature two teams hoping to make a dent in this season’s tough competition. The rebuilding University of the East Warriors, which has former Cebu Eastern College Dragons’ wingman BJ Zosa, will be taking on the University of the Philippines Maroons.
