CARPENTER SHOT DEAD

A 54-YEAR-OLD carpenter was shot dead by an unidentified gunman in barangay Cogon Cruz, Danao City, northern Cebu.

Concordio Arenas, 54, suffered gunshot wounds in the head, left arm and chest.

Police said Arenas was driving a motorcycle with his 19-year-old daughter when the attack happened at dawn yesterday.

Police said the victim was supposed to bring his daughter to her work at Mitzumi.

Police said the woman was wounded in the left arm.

Arenas was declared dead when he and his daughter were brought to the Danao District Hospital.

Three empty shells of a .45 pistol were recovered in the crime scene.

2 MEN NABBED IN DRUG BUST

TWO men allegedly involved in selling illegal drugs were arrested in barangay Poblacion, Borbon town, northern Cebu.

Police said Junel Siclot, 32, of barangay San Jose, Catmon town, and Meljun Cantere, 19, of barangay Poblacion, Borbon town, sold a pack of suspected shabu to a poseur-buyer in a buy-bust operation in sitio Galaban last Thursday.

Seized from the two men were four small heat-sealed sachets containing white crystalline substance, a loaded .38 revolver and cash, said police.

BIKE STOLEN IN MABOLO

A MOTORCYCLE was stolen in barangay Mabolo, Cebu City.

Marive Dampor, 34, said her Honda motorcycle with plate number ZH-5009 was stolen while it was parked outside her house on Juan Seno Street past 11 p.m. last Friday.

MAN FOUND DEAD OFF TALISAY

THE body of a man was found floating in the waters off barangay Cansojong, Talisay City, southern Cebu.

The fatality was identified as Rogelio Bas, 35, a resident of barangay Poblacion, Talisay.

Police said the man was hogtied when he was found early morning yesterday.

The man was last seen alive last Friday night.

Police are checking reports that the man was accused of stealing water meters in the barangay./CORRESPONDENT GABRIEL C. BONJOC

SNATCHING IN MALL TERMINAL

TWO passengers lost their valuables to two unidentified thieves in a mall terminal in Cebu City.

Madel Ymbong, 21, and Emmanuel Aro, 22, both residents of barangay Looc, Lapu-lapu City, were inside a passenger jeepney at terminal of SM-Cebu when snatchers struck at 8:30 a.m. yesterday.
