MANILA, Philippines – Former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has left the Veterans’ Memorial Medical Center after an hour of physical therapy and is now on her way to the second district of Pampanga to see her constituents.
Arroyo will first visit her constituents in Porac, Pampanga before heading to her hometown Lubao, Pampanga where she will spend the night.
A shooting pain she felt in her leg Thursday night prompted her to see return to the VMMC on Friday for therapy after her check-up at an alternative medical center in Tagaytay, her spokesperson Elena Bautista-Horn said.
Dr. Nona Legaspi, medical director of the VMMC, said Arroyo went through her usual therapy and would continue with it four times every week.
Arroyo was scheduled for yet another surgery but has declined due to the prior three surgeries she underwent before, which she described as “traumatic”.
