MANILA, Philippines – Securities and Exchange Commission chair Teresita Herbosa, a candidate for next Chief Justice, has this advice to all ladies especially those who are still single: Be independent.
When asked during her interview with the Judicial and Bar Council (JBC) on Friday if her being still single was by accident or by choice, Herbosa said laughing, “I think, it is by accident because there are many opportunities I let pass.”
She said her single aunt told her it is important to be independent if she’s going to be single.
When asked again if she thinks God should have given her a partner, Herbosa said she has been alone for quite some time until she arrived from abroad.
“But I am used to just being alone,” Herbosa said.
Herbosa, 61 is head of the SEC, a former partner of the Angara Abello Concepcion Regala & Cruz Law Office (ACCRALAW) and professor of Law, who taught at the Lyceum University and University of the Philippines Schools of Law.
She finished Master of Comparative Law Degree at the University of Michigan and finished law at the University of the Philipines and graduated cum laude.
