5 Lapu-Lapu hospitals ink deal with Red Cross

The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) signed an agreement last weekend with five hospitals in Lapu-Lapu City. This brings to a total of 26 hospitals nationwide that have signed a similar agreement with the PRC headed by Chairman Richard Gordon.

The five hospitals in Lapu-Lapu City are Brigadier General Benito N. Ebuen Airbase Hospital, Lapu-Lapu City Hospital, Mactan Doctors’ Hospital, Tojong Inc. Maternity and General Hospital and Our Lady of the Rule Maternity and General Hospital.

Under the agreement, PRC can establish Red Cross welfare desks in the hospitals to provide psychosocial support and facilitate communications with family members of victims of mass casualty incidents.

PRC will also source and supply blood to the hospitals’ patients when needed during emergencies. The hospitals, on the other hand, will provide information to PRC on emergency services and will prioritize treatment of victims of mass casualty incidents and disasters.

The agreement ensures that maximum emergency services, triage and trauma services are in place for victims of mass casualty incidents.

The 21 other hospitals that earlier signed agreement with PRC are Makati Medical Center, St. Lukes-Global City, Quirino Medical Center, Bernardino General Hospital, Quezon City General Hospital, Gat Andress Bonifacio Hospital, Ospital ng Sampaloc, Ospital ng Tondo, Ospital ng Maynila, Justice Abad Santos Mother and Child Hospital, Sta.
