THE TMX Toastmasters Club installed its officers for 2012-2013 last July 19 at the Crown Regency Hotel in Lapu-Lapu City.
The event also marked the 30th anniversary of the club. The club is part of District 75 of Toastmasters International, which includes all clubs in the Philippines.
Newly installed District 75 Governor Grace L. Paras installed the incoming officers. She was accompanied by District 75 logistics chairperson Jeffery Belotindos.
Installed into office were Charisse Gabunada, president; Delia Suplig, past president; Dianalee Tio, vice president for education; Juvale Embradora, assistant VP for education; Ruchir Gupta, VP for public relations; Erwin Alcober, AVP for public relations; Emmanuell Caitum, VP for membership; Roel Basera, AVP for membership; Estella Ibañez, VP for Finance; Gemma Monterde, secretary; Jessieryl Pitogo, assistant secretary; and Milvin Villaceran and Lea Columnas, protocol officers.
The event was themed “Growing stronger with time.”
In her inspirational address to the incoming officers, Paras lauded the past achievements of the club and emphasized the seven qualities that one must adopt to become a successful leader, including courage to let go of power and humility to learn from others.
The incoming president Charisse also spoke about leading by example and asked members to set aggressive goals towards attaining the club’s objectives.
The TMX Toastmasters club has been one of the most successful clubs in the Philippines with a steady membership. It has the distinction of achieving the Presidents Distinguished Club Award for six times and fifth consecutive time this year.
The club has also helped mentor and chartered other clubs in Lapu-lapu City such as the MEZ1 Toastmasters Club and the Pueblo Verde Toastmasters Club.
