Three men died in three shooting and stabbing attacks in Cebu City last Sunday.
The violence started last Sunday afternoon when motorcycle-riding gunmen shot two men in sitio Lomar, barangay T. Padilla, Cebu City.
Alberto Yape alias Oding, 40, and his companion Quirico Mangyao, 39, suffered gunshot wounds in the thigh.
Oding, however, died due to loss of blood. Mangyao survived the attack and was treated at the hospital.
Police said the police were looking at the attack as a drug related incident.
Investigation showed that both victims were standing on the roadside when the two men on a motorcycle passed by. The backrider pulled out a gun and shot Oding and Mangyao.
The assailants then fled towards M.J. Cuenco after the attack.
At 7:40 p.m. in sitio Lawis, barangay Pasil, two men gunned down Aldrin Suan, 28, a fisherman, 10 minutes after he was accused of stabbing and wounding his neighbor, Rogelio Gabasa.
Suan died after he was shot in the face by Macsas Santillas and Dectoy Dacay.
Police said witnesses identified Santillas and Dacay as the assailants, who chased the victim before they shot him with a handgun.
Police said they were looking into the revenge-angle in the attack.
At about the same time the Pasil attack in Leon Kilat St. occured, an unidentified assailant stabbed and killed a certain Alexes, a second-hand cell phone vendor.
Police said the assailant arrived at 7:30 p.m. and stabbed Alexes in the chest.
The assailant then fled the area.
Police said the motive of the attack could have been a personal grudge.
An hour later, in barangay Sambag Dos, a dispatcher known as Ronnie stabbed and wounded Allen Plando, 32.
