The different local government units in the province of Cebu can ban the use of full-faced helmets in their respective towns and cities.

This was what Land Transportation Office (LTO) 7 director Raul Aguiloz told the Provincial Board (PB) session yesterday.

Aguiloz was invited by the PB to clarify the implementation of Republic Act 10054 also known as the Helmet Law.

According to Aguiloz, these full-faced helmets are mostly used by criminals to cover their faces while committing crimes.

Aguiloz said that a city or the town may pass a measure that will recommend for the banning of full-faced helmets.

Other than full-faced helmets, half-faced and half-head helmets are allowed provided that they have ICC stickers when bought or have been issued by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) these stickers. /Carmel Loise Matus, Correspondent
