Villar rates Aquino's Sona 'good'
MANILA, Philippines – Senator Manuel Villar found the State of the Nation Address (SONA) of President Benigno Aquino III as “good” and said that no address could ever be perfect.

“Each sector will always find something lacking (in Aquino’s speech). We cannot perfect everything,” Villar said after the President’s hour and a half speech at the House of Representatives Monday.

“No SONA speech can ever be complete. Each person will look for something that was not mentioned,” Villar, who became an ally of the President recently after his Nacionalista Party entered into an alliance with Aquino’s Liberal Party, said.

He added that he would look at Aquino’s speech “as a whole,” at would rate it as “good.”

Villar, who had not attended the previous SONAs, said that he wanted to attend the event this time because his term was about to end.

When asked what he liked best about Aquino’s speech, he said “his call for unity.”

“I think it is more important now to become united so we can eliminate poverty faster,” Villar said.
