MANILA, Philippines — A low pressure area (LPA) near Mindanao and a southwest monsoon over Luzon and Visayas are expected to bring rain Monday when President Benigno Aquino III will deliver his State of the Nation Address.
The LPA was spotted 1,170 kilometers east of Mindanao.
Meanwhile, the southwest monsoon affecting Luzon and Visayas are expected to bring rain, especially over the western section of Luzon, which may trigger flashfloods and landslides. the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical Astronomical Services Administration said.
Central Visayas will be mostly cloudy with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms, it also said.
The rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.
Moderate to strong winds blowing from the southwest will prevail over the entire archipelago with moderate to rough seas.
