NBI to investigate pet crematorium
MANILA, Philippines — The National Bureau of Investigation will investigate the reported dumping of dead dogs and cats allegedly by Bacoor City-based Ahjay Paws Aftercare Pet Crematorium, following the discovery of their carcasses at a vacant lot in San Jose del Monte, Bulacan.
It was animal rescue service Luna and Furry Siblings which reported the 25 dead animals whose owners said they paid Ahjay Paws to have the remains of their pets cremated. The Philippine Animal Welfare Society has urged the pet owners to file estafa charges against the company.

“As a pet lover I myself, understand and sympathize with those who have fallen victim to this fraudulent practice,” NBI Director Melvin Matibag said. “It is unacceptable that the trust given, including the money … worked hard for by every pet owner was repaid with fraud. Instead of a proper cremation, [their pets were] thrown away like garbage.”

“The NBI will ensure that this matter is thoroughly investigated and appropriate charges are filed based on the evidence,” he said.
