Due to flood, heavy traffic continues in Metro Manila’s major roads

MANILA, Philippines—Rains brought by Tropical Depression “Ferdie” have caused flooding in many parts of Metro Manila which led to traffic coming to a halt in many major road and highways.

Traffic was heavy along Edsa northbound from Taft Avenue up to Roxas Boulevard due gutter-deep waters, according to the Metro Manila Development Authority.

Floodwaters at the P. Tuazon intersection of Edsa heading southbound were also heavy up to Timog Avenue.

Both sides of Maria Clara Avenue near Quezon Avenue-Araneta was not passable to light because of knee-deep flood waters, MMDA said.

Traffic was slow at Sto. Domingo Avenue due to the gutter-deep waters.

Along C-5 avenue, an uprooted tree near the U-turn slot of J. Vargas avenue heading northbound was causing heavy traffic.

“Ferdie” has been pouring rain over Metro Manila since early Saturday prompting many colleges to suspend their weekend classes.
