Sonshine Radio 21k Half Marathon set
FILIPINO runners will be on the spotlight this Sunday in the Sonshine Radio 21k Half Marathon starting at the Ayala Center Cebu’s The Terraces.
This after powerhouse Kenyan runners were barred from joining the competitive side of the 21-kilometer race.
After chief organizer and OIC of Sonshine Radio William Valencia announced that the foreign runners were only allowed to join the non-competitive side, the Kenyans backed out from the race that offers P50,000 to the winners.
With the absence of the Kenyans, all eyes will be on the elite local runners.
According to Sonshine Radio, around 1,400 runners have already signed up for the race, which is a fund-raising event for the radio station’s charity program dubbed “Operation Sonshine.”
This is the second running event of dyAR 765. It will also have 12k, 6k and 3k distances.
