MORE than a thousand students from Cebu sixth district were granted scholarships through the “Iskolar Quisumbing” IQ educational assistance program of Rep. Luis Gabriel Quisumbing.
The 1,500 poor but deserving student beneficiaries studying in college come from Cordova and Consolacion towns and Mandaue City.
The IQ program, which is now on its second year, provides financial assistance to the scholars as well as social services to them and their families.
Scholars commit to give back to their fellow Cebuanos through volunteer work, such as participating in livelihood trainings, leadership seminars, values formation and other projects that will enhance their skills and talents. /CORRESPONDENT NORMAN V. MENDOZA
