Mapua Laguna suspends onsite classes Thursday over security concern
MANILA, Philippines — Mapua Malayan Colleges Laguna suspended its face-to-face classes and shifted to online classes on Thursday, October 1, due to a reported security concern in its campus.

The educational institution made the announcement on Thursday morning, with its directive to suspend onsite classes effective immediately.
“On-site classes are suspended effective immediately today, October 1, 2026 as a precaution due to a reported security concern. Those with on-site classes will shift to synchronous classes online,” it said in a statement.

However, it has not yet provided any details regarding the reported security issue.
It also said that the school administration is closely coordinating with the local law enforcement and emergency personnel to conduct a safety campus inspection. /jpv
