DAR installs 13 farmers in Negros
The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) in Negros Oriental Province has installed the 13 farmer-beneficiaries to a 10.6-hectare landholding formerly owned by Trison’s Development Corp. in San Jose town, Negros Oriental.
DAR distributed the certificates of land ownership to the farmers during an installation ceremony held last July 10.
Provincial Agrarian Reform officer 2 Stephen Leonidas, in his message, encouraged the farmer-beneficiaries to develop their lands by availing of the projects and programs offered by the Philippine Coconut Authority.
He also reminded the farmers of their obligations and responsibilities, particularly in paying their taxes to the government and the annual amortization of their land to the Landbank of the Philippines.
The event was also attended by Provincial Agrarian Reform officer 1 Lumel Chiu along with staff from DAR provincial office and San Jose.
Last month, DAR also awarded an eight-hectare landholding formerly owned by Julieta Pintor to the 13 farmer-beneficiaries in barangay Maningcao, Sibulan, Negros Oriental.
