ACTION in the University of San Carlos Boys High Alumni Basketball Association (USCBHABA) heats up this Sunday as the knockout round begins in the playoffs at the USC North Gym along Mango Avenue.
In division 2 action, the quarterfinals commences with the Dosmiltres taking on the 99ers even as reigning champions, Yayoy’s Grill, tries to stay alive against Color Blind. Dosmiltres, which will be led by former USC Warrior Johmel Igao, finished the elimination round with an 8-3 (win-loss) record while the 99ers, which features Jake Saturninas, ended up with a 6-5 mark.
Yayoy’s Grill is expected to be led by former two-time Cesafi MVP, Enrico Llanto, Earl Abellanosa and Rocky Alcoseba while Color Blind will be banking on Fritz Villamor. Both teams finished with identical 7-4 marks. Already waiting in the semifinal round are the top two teams, Mapre Insular and Cebu Tech Jobs.
Over in division 1, the semifinals start with top seed BMEG Llamados, led by former PBA player, Lou Regidor battling Bai 91. The other semis pairing will see Arthro/Solar Link battling the Cebu Vet Doctors. Both are knockout matches with the winners advancing to the finals.
