Depression may rain on Aquino’s Sona
The band of clouds left behind by Tropical Storm “Enteng” has formed into a low pressure area east of Luzon, threatening to bring rain during President Benigno Aquino’s State of the Nation Address (Sona) on Monday.
The LPA was swirling over the East Philippine Sea some 830 kilometers east of Central Luzon at around 2 p.m. Wednesday, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.
It was forecast to develop into a tropical depression by Friday, and would be named “Ferdie.”
“By Sunday, it would induce the southwest monsoon to bring cloudy skies with scattered to widespread rains over Northern and Central Luzon, and the western section of Southern Luzon, including Metro Manila,” forecaster Raymond Ordinario said in an interview. “So it’s expected to bring rain in the capital on Monday.”
