2 alleged rebels surrender in Oriental Mindoro
CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro — Two alleged members of the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) separately surrendered to authorities in Oriental Mindoro, with one turning over a .38-caliber firearm and two rounds of ammunition, police said Thursday.
Police said one of the surrenderers, who was listed in the National Peace and Security Registry (NPSR), surrendered around 2 p.m. in Barangay Batong Dalig, Socorro, following sustained dialogue and community engagement by government security and intelligence personnel.
Authorities identified the individual as affiliated with the Main Regional Guerrilla Unit (MRGU) under Command Duralite of the Southern Tagalog Regional Party Committee.
The surrender was facilitated through the joint efforts of intelligence personnel, the Socorro Municipal Police Station, National Intelligence Coordinating Agency 4B, Regional Mobile Force Battalion 4B, Philippine Army, and other government units.

In Bongabong town, another NPSR-listed alleged CTG member surrendered around 1:30 p.m. in Barangay Sta. Cruz.
Authorities said the individual was affiliated with remnants of the dismantled KLG-MAV in the Southern Tagalog region.
During the surrender, the former CTG member turned over a .38-caliber firearm without a serial number and two live rounds to members of the Revitalized Pulis sa Barangay team in Sta. Cruz.
The operation involved the Bongabong Municipal Police Station, Regional Intelligence Division 4B, Oriental Mindoro Police Provincial Office, Regional Mobile Force Battalion 4B, Philippine Army, PNP Special Action Force, NICA and other partner agencies.
The two surrenderers are undergoing documentation and debriefing and may be considered for enrollment in the government’s Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP), subject to assessment and other requirements. /mcm
