Tom on Guadalupe split: It’s up to the people
“LET the people decide.”
Rep. Tomas Osmeña (Cebu City south district) said he would leave affected residents to decide whether support the proposed split of Banawa-Englis from barangay Guadalupe.
“In this particular case, I cannot do anything to enlighten these people because they know more about the issue,” said Osmeña during yesterday’s 888 News Forum at the Marco Polo Plaza.
The Commission on Elections scheduled a July 28 plebiscite to decide whether Banawa-Englis will be split from barangay Guadalupe and become a new barangay.
Osmeña was the only speaker during the forum.
Last week, Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama gave his support to the group pushing for a new Banawa-Englis barangay.
