7:30 p.m.- Brgy. Ginebra vs. Talk ‘N Text

The semifinal round of the 37th PBA Governors’ Cup comes to a close today pitting the four teams in the running for a finals berth.

The Rain or Shine Elasto Painters and the B-Meg Llamados fight for the first finals berth when they play each other in the first game while the Barangay Ginebra Kings and the Talk ’N Text Tropang Texters collide in a do-or-die game in the main game at the Araneta Coliseum.

The Llamados and the Painters both have 9-4 (win-loss) slates, while the Kings and the Texters also sport similar records at 8-5.

The winner in the B-Meg-Rain or Shine tiff will advance to the best-of-seven championship round with the loser facing the winner in the Ginebra-Talk ’N Text scuffle for the second championship seat.

The Texters will be playing their fourth do-or-die game in the semis. They kept their campaign alive after pulling off a 98-90 win over the Painters last Monday.

That was Rain or Shine’s third loss in four semis games, badly hurting its chances of earning a championship ticket.

Leading that big win  by the Texters was import Paul Harris, who amassed 34 points, 16 rebound and five rebounds.

“Harris doesn’t want to go home. He doesn’t want it to end. Sometimes I can be really hard on him and he just continues playing. That’s why he’s here,” Talk ’N Text head coach Chot Reyes told pba.ph.

Reyes knows his team still faces an uphill battle. “All we did tonight (last Monday) was to buy us a little bit more time.”
