‘Bukas-Kotse Gang’ victimizes former ambassador and Navy man

MANILA, Philippines – A former ambassador and a member of the Philippine Navy fell victim to the “Basag-Kotse Gang” in Pasay City Friday, police said Monday.

Citing reports from the Pasay City police, Southern Police District spokeswoman Chief Inspector Jenny Tecson said that unidentified suspects smashed one of the windows of the Mistubishi Montero (PJI-648) of former ambassador Milo Barry Gusi before ransacking the vehicle for valuables.

The suspects struck at around 6:45 p.m., after Gusi, his wife Evelyn and children left to attend mass at the St. Therese Church in Newport City, said Tecson.

She said the vehicle was parked at the basement of the church.

It was Evelyn who noticed the shattered window on the right side of the vehicle when they got back, said police.

The suspects stole a leather handbag containing important documents, P35,000 cash, among others.

Tecson said that Lieutenant Allan Guda of the Philippine Navy was also victimized by the same suspects.

They stole valuable items and documents from Guda’s Nissan Sentra (WGX-464).

Initial investigation showed that there was no CCTV installed in the parking area.

Police said a cashier from the car park told them there was also no security guard.
