Tire in river leads to SUV that plunged off Tarlac bridge

TARLAC CITY— Tarlac City Mayor Susan Yap on Wednesday said retrieval operations have begun for a sports utility vehicle that fell off Agana Bridge, killing two of its passengers, one rescued and two still missing. 

Residents saw a tire when the river water receded slightly about 2 kilometers away from Agana Bridge, which partially collapsed on August 29 and dragged the vehicle down with the debris, the mayor said in a social media post.

Pangasinan fishermen on Monday helped recover the body of one of the five SUV occupants, James Patrick Taborlupa, whose remains were snagged in the net of fishing vessel Queen Ashley in the sea off Lingayen, Pangasinan.

Shanen Tuhao was found in Bayambang town, also in Pangasinan, on Tuesday.

Still missing are Paul Harvey Collado, nurse supervisor of Jecsons Medical Center, and Shiela Mae Taborlupa. 

The SUV’s lone survivor was 20-year-old Nataniel Dizon, a relative of James Taborlupa./coa
