THE LEAGUE-LEADING Lyceum Pirates will face their first real acid test when they take on the reigning champions San Beda Red Lions in the 87th NCAA basketball tournament today at the Arena in San Juan City.

The Pirates smothered the College of St. Benilde Blazers, 75-63, and repulsed the University of Perpetual Help Altas, 93-87, to jumpstart to a 2-0 (win-loss) mark.

So far, three Pirates have done well in their first two games as Chris Cayabyab, Allan Santos and Floricel Guevarra are all scoring in double figures.

In the other game, San Sebastian guns for a 3-0 mark when it tackles Perpetual at 11:45 a./Correspondent Jonas Panerio
