5 fishermen missing in Occidental Mindoro

CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro – Five fishermen from Santa Cruz town in Occidental Mindoro have been reported missing after they failed to return from a fishing trip off Barangay Poblacion on Tuesday, the Coast Guard said.

Romnick Temenia, 35; Ronelio Temenia, 33; Arjhay Ortea, 30; Aldrin Bonilia, 34; and Agustin Ramirez, 50 – all are residents of Barangay Poblacion 1 – went fishing on Aug. 16 aboard the fishing banca “Balong 3,” a blue-and-white vessel with SSEN No.STL-OCM-0812-22-00563, according to the Coast Guard Station Occidental Mindoro. 

They were expected to return from the fishing trip on Aug. 18 but failed to arrive home and remained unaccounted for as of Thursday.

The Coast Guard has appealed to the public for any information that could help locate the fishermen and their boat.
