“All residents living in the aforementioned areas, especially those near the river banks, are STILL ADVISED TO TAKE NECESSARY PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES,” the bureau said.

In a separate 5 a.m. weather forecast, Pagasa said that generally improving weather conditions may be expected today as the Tropical Depression Neneng and the southwest monsoon are forecast to weaken.

Pagasa added that Neneng may make landfall within the northern portion of Taiwan within 12 hours and will weaken into a low pressure area.

Fewer areas will experience significant amount of rainfall (50 to 100 millimeters) within 24 hours, such as Batanes, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Zambales, and Bataan.  /mr
