MANILA, Philippines—The Manila Police District (MPD) are now tracking down the location of Senior Police Officer 2 Gregorio Mendoza, brother of slain hostage taker Senior Inspector Rolando Mendoza after the Manila Regional Trial Court Branch 14 ordered his arrest.
Chief Inspector Edgardo Carpio, chief of the Warrant Section of the Manila Police District said Manila RTC Branch 14 Judge Albert Tenorio Jr. ordered Mendoza’s arrest for his failure to attend court hearings.
Mendoza is facing a case for serious illegal detention and conspiracy before the Manila Court for allegedly conspiring with his brother in taking hostage Hong Kong nationals in August last year at the Quirino Grandstand.
The Manila Court has set a P200,000 bail for Mendoza’s temporary liberty.
Carpio said the police already went to his house at Oroquieta Street in Sta. Cruz, Manila and at his house in Fairview, Quezon City to serve the arrest warrant but Mendoza could not be found.
The last place visited by the arresting team led by Inspector Fred Ramos is the house of Mendoza’s parents at Barangay Banadera, Tanauan, Batangas.
