PUBLIC school teachers in Mandaue City, who have served continuously for 25 years, have something to look forward to on Teachers Day on October 5.
A P10,000 “milestone bonus” was approved by the Mandaue City Council in last Wednesday’s session.
The council approved the outlay in an ordinance as a token of appreciation “to all teachers who reach a milestone of 25 years of teaching.”
The outlay will be charged against the city’s Special Education Fund which has a balance of P6.8 million as of June 25.
Under the ordinance introduced by Councilor Demetrio Cortes, Jr, the bonus will be charged to the Special Education Fund, under the other bonuses and allowances which still has a current balance of P6.8 -million as of June 25, 2012./Correspondent Norman V. Mendoza
