Games today:
MOA Arena
2 p.m. – UE vs. NU
4 p.m. – FEU vs. UST
THE NATIONAL University Bulldogs will try to live up to the hype today as they kickstart their campaign in the 75th season of the UAAP with a match against the University of the East Red Warriors at the state-of-the-art Mall of Asia Arena.
The hosts of this season are eager to show and prove to the rest of the league that the title they won in the FilOil preseason tournament was indeed no fluke.
With reigning league MVP Bobby Ray Parks improving and Nigerian import Emmanuel Mbe holding steady down low, the Bulldogs of head coach Eric Altamirano are poised to end their long title drought.
UE, on the other hand, will aim to show that its rebuilding project is headed in the right direction.
Worth noting is the fact that the Red Warriors will parade in their lineup two former stalwarts of the 2010 Cesafi juniors division champions Cebu Eastern College in Roy Villarias and Mark Olayon.
The second game will see last year’s finalists Far Eastern University Tamaraws facing off against the University of Sto. Tomas Growling Tigers. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
