Missing man found dead in Zambales river
SAN ANTONIO, Zambales — The body of a man who was earlier reported missing in Castillejos town was found in a river here on Thursday, authorities said.
The victim was identified as Eddie Garcia Bonus, who was reported missing in Barangay Balaybay and was later believed to have drowned.
His body was found around 5 p.m. at Burgos River in Barangay Angeles, according to a police report.
A 14-year-old resident discovered the body and immediately informed his mother, who then reported the discovery to authorities.
The recovery was initially hampered by the strong river current but responders successfully recovered the body from the river at 8:27 p.m.
The Castillejos Municipal Police Station is continuing its investigation to establish the circumstances surrounding the death of the victim.
