WALANG PASOK: Class suspensions on Friday, Aug. 14, due to monsoon rains

MANILA, Philippines — In-person classes on Friday, Aug. 14, remained suspended in several areas due to prevailing heavy rainfall brought by the southwest monsoon, or habagat.

Metro Manila

• Manila – kindergarten to senior high school (public and private schools)
• Mandaluyong City – preschool to senior high school, including Alternative Learning System (public and private schools) shift to alternative modes
• Las Piñas City – all levels (public and private schools)
• Pateros – child development centers to senior high school (public and private schools) shift to alternative modes
• San Juan City – all levels (public and private schools)
• Marikina City – all levels (public and private schools)
• Malabon City – all levels (public and private schools) shift to alternative modes
• Pasig City – kinder to senior high school, including Alternative Learning System (public and private schools) shift to alternative modes
• Valenzuela City – all levels (public and private schools)
• Quezon City — afternoon classes of child development centers to senior high school, including Alternative Learning System (public schools only), shift to alternative modes

Benguet

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration earlier said in a weather advisory that the southwest monsoon will continue to affect major parts of Luzon, while fair weather conditions are likely to prevail over parts of Visayas and Mindanao. /jpv /mr
