Southwest monsoon, ITCZ to bring rains in parts of Luzon, Mindanao – Pagasa

MANILA, Philippines – A weak southwest monsoon in Northern and Central Luzon and an inter-tropical convergence zone affecting Mindanao will bring rains in these areas, the state weather bureau said Friday.

An ITCZ is a convergence of winds, which could eventually breed low pressure areas.

Meanwhile, Northern and Central Luzon, Eastern Visayas and Mindanao will experience mostly cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms.

The rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.

No weather disturbance that could enter the country has been monitored by Pagasa.

Light to moderate winds blowing from the southwest will prevail over Luzon and from the east to northeast over the rest of the country. The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be slight to moderate.
