PCG searches for man missing in Quezon river
LUCENA CITY – The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has launched a search for a missing 36-year-old man who is believed to have drowned in a river in the Quezon town of Candelaria when an intensified southwest monsoon hit the area with strong rains on August 10.
In a report issued Tuesday night, Aug. 11, the PCG Southern Quezon Station identified the missing man as Julius Christian, who was reportedly swept away by the Malaking Tubig River in Barangay San Isidro.

The coast guard, police officers and volunteers conducted riverbank, riverine and aerial searches along the river and toward neighboring Sariaya town, due to the possibility that the missing man may have been carried downstream.
However, search operations were temporarily suspended due to low visibility and unfavorable weather conditions. The PCG said search and rescue operations would resume as soon as weather conditions permit. INQ
