MANILA, Philippines—Supreme Court spokesperson, lawyer Gleo Guerra, explained on Thursday the high court’s decision why it withdrew its earlier order preventing the implementation of the Department of Labor and Employment (DoLE)’s directive on fixed wages for bus drivers and conductors.
Speaking to anchors Den Macaranas, Susan K and Captain Dylan Halili of Radyo Inqurier 990 AM on Thursday morning, Guerra said SC wanted to hear the arguments of both parties—DoLE and the Land Transportation and Franchising Regulatory Board (LTFRB).
SC on Wednesday deferred the issuance of a status quo ante order allowing the continued implementation of the commission basis scheme for bus drivers and conductors.
She clarified it’s not “deny but defer the issuance of a temporary restraining order.”
She said the ones who filed the petition are the bus operators not the drivers and conductors.
