CALASIAO, Pangasinan — Government work and in-person classes in nearby La Union remain suspended on Wednesday, Aug. 5, as the province continues to be under an Orange rainfall warning.
The warning was issued by the Department of Science and Technology–Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) due to the effects of a low-pressure area and the southwest monsoon (habagat).

Under Executive Order No. 42, Gov. Mario Ortega also encouraged private companies to suspend work, subject to the discretion of their respective management.
However, offices providing essential services, including health, disaster risk reduction, and emergency response, will remain fully operational. /cb
