DepEd unveils Adopt-A-School platform for private sector support
BACOLOD CITY — The Department of Education (DepEd) on Thursday launched a new digital platform for its Adopt-A-School Program (ASP), aiming to attract more private sector investments and help address resource gaps in public basic education.
The platform, unveiled during the Visayas leg of DepEd’s nationwide ASP roadshow, serves as a digital gateway for corporate sponsors, civic organizations and private donors. It is designed to simplify project matching, improve donation tracking and provide easier access to tax incentives under Republic Act No. 8525, or the Adopt-A-School Act of 1998, and Bureau of Internal Revenue regulations.
Education Secretary Sonny Angara said the initiative seeks to make it easier for the private sector to support public schools through a more transparent and efficient system.

“Many Filipinos and private sector partners want to help our schools and our learners. What we need is to provide them with a faster and clearer system so they can become part of the change,” Angara said.
“Under the leadership of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., we are turning goodwill into concrete investments—building more classrooms, empowering our teachers and ensuring equitable access for every learner,” he added.
During the launch, DepEd also introduced an expanded ASP Menu of Investments, which aligns private sector support with the department’s five-point reform agenda and recommendations of the Second Congressional Commission on Education (Edcom 2).
The investment menu identifies priority areas for private funding, including classroom construction and learning spaces, safe schools initiatives and work immersion programs for senior high school students.
The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (Tesda) and the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) also presented their respective investment menus to encourage broader collaboration across the education sector.
After the Visayas kickoff, the 2026 ASP caravan will continue to Mindanao and Luzon to engage business leaders, civic groups and other stakeholders nationwide.
The Visayas event gathered representatives from national government agencies, local government units, private institutions, corporate foundations, non-government organizations, academic institutions, cooperatives and civic groups, underscoring a whole-of-government approach to improving education.
DepEd said it currently has 192 active partner organizations supporting education programs across the country.
With the launch of the ASP microsite and the nationwide caravan, the department is encouraging more companies, nonprofit organizations and civil society groups to invest in priority education projects and help strengthen public basic education.
