MANILA, Philippines – The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) on Wednesday said that it has not yet received the official status quo ante order from the Supreme Court, but it would act on the order as soon as it receives the document.
“Once we receive the official order we will obey it,” Labor Communications Office Director Nicon Fameronag said in an interview on Radyo Inquirer.
Fameronag said that this was agreed upon during a meeting Tuesday by Labor officials headed by Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz.
The Supreme Court on Tuesday stopped the implementation of the DOLE order fixing wages of bus drivers and conductors.
Meanwhile, Fameronag said that the agency continued to offer free training on occupational safety and health standards for safety officers of 87 bus companies.
He added that DOLE would be releasing a report on the findings made by its eight inspection teams on whether 81 bus companies followed the guidelines on generational labor and safety standards.
