LOREGA MAN SHOT, HURT

A MAN previously convicted for theft was  shot and wounded  by two motorcycle-riding assailants in barangay Hipodromo, Cebu City.
Rodel Daljog, 30  was brought to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center with a gunshot wound in the left torso.
Police said Daljog was sitting on a bench by the road when he was attacked  past 8 p.m.
The two motorcycle-riding men approached Daljog and opened fire several times before driving off.
SPO1 Ruth Violango said investigators are checking whether the victim’s previous cases had something to do with the killing.
Daljog was from barangay Lorega-San Miguel, Cebu City./CORRESPONDENT CHITO O. ARAGON

LAPU FIRE RAZES 3 HOUSES

THREE houses were razed by a fire in barangay Punta Engaño, Lapu-Lapu City.
The fire broke out at 8:30 p.m. last Monday and was contained in five minutes.
Property damage was pegged at P250,000. No one was injured  during the fire.
The fire  started at the house of Mila Baring and was caused by an overheated  air-conditioner in the second floor of the house, said FO2 Climaco Salisid,  investigator of the Lapu-Lapu City Fire Department.
Baring owned two of the houses. The other house was owned by Victor Pagobo.
Barangay councilor Josie Hayashi said the city council will discuss the possible release of assistance.
