MCDRRMD opens Disaster Readiness caravan at National Museum

MANILA, Philippines — The Manila City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Department (MCDRRMD) officially kicked off its disaster preparedness caravan at the National Museum of Natural History, as part of the celebration of the National Resilience Month.

The event, which formally began Tuesday, July 14, showcased numerous equipment, technologies, and methods in responding to emergencies during disasters and other calamities. The initiative aims to promote community preparedness, hazard resilience, and emergency response skills, MCDRRMD said.
According to the Manila Public Information Office, the caravan is open to the public until July 24, where visitors can view equipment, participate in activities, learn beneficial skills in times of disaster, and get information on disaster preparedness.
Meanwhile, the National Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Day on Friday, July 17, is set to feature demonstrations on the proper administration of CPR and other life-saving techniques to help expand public knowledge on first aid.
