Titans gain E-League southern division lead

THE TELETECH Titans moved atop the standings in the southern division after they nipped the Accenture Sharks, 78-67, last Sunday in the 2012 Sun Cellular E-League for Basketball at the City Sports Club-Cebu Gym.

Sherwin Emmanuelle Resilla had 17 points, 12 rebounds, four steals and three assists in a brilliant all-around game to lead the Titans’ sixth victory in seven games.

Sherwin Anghay finished with 13 points, Lourenz Limpangog had 12, while Edsel Duke Capillanes added 10 markers for the Titans, who never looked back after taking a 33-26 lead at the bend.

Ryan Edward Llanos wound up with 19 points, Jasper Loreto finished with 17 for the Sharks, who dropped to 5-3 (win-loss).

In the northern division, victory remained elusive for the Executive Boutique Lycans after they lost badly to the Qualfon Knights, 74-102.

The Kyocera Frontiers, on the other hand, trampled the Calltek Trojans, 58-49.

Only five players scored for Qualfon but Vincent Enriquez, Jopher Regidor, Arnuldo Gelbolingo, Benjamin Sanchez and John Llesol all wound up in double figures.

Enriquez fired 26 points, Regidor nailed 25 markers, Gelbolingo piled up 23, Sanchez scattered 18, while Llesol had 10 for the Knights’ fifth win in nine battles.

Andrew Thomas John Hilvano finished with 23 points, R’nyl Joey Cagas submitted 23 markers and Ray Frances Vertudazo came away with 15 points but the Lycans still could not avoid losing their seventh straight game in as many outings.
