A notable member of the administration One Cebu party was present during the formal alliance forged between the Liberal Party (LP) and Bakud party in Danao City over the weekend.

Provincial Board (PB) member Thadeo “Teddy” Ouano, who was considered in the shortlist of One Cebu’s candidates for vice governor, was evasive when asked if he will also transfer to the Cebu LP chapter.

“Mag-agad nalang ta sa Ginoo (We’ll just wait on God’s guidance),” he said when asked about it.

The councilor is already an LP member in Mandaue City, along with Ouano’s erstwhile political rival Mandaue City Mayor Jonas Cortes.

Ouano also declined to comment on reports about his consideration as a vice gubernatorial candidate.

He joins businessman Glenn Soco and PB member Julian Daan in One Cebu’s list of vice gubernatorial prospects.

One Cebu’s gubernatorial bet, Rep. Pablo John Garcia of Cebu’s 3rd district, visited Cebu’s 1st district to solicit support for his bid.

In aligning with LP, Bakud is supporting the gubernatorial bid of former Cebu City councilor Hilario Davide III, who will run alongside Bakud member and Vice Gov. Agnes Magpale.

Bakud will also field former tourism secretary Joseph “Ace” Durano for Cebu’s 5th congressional district while incumbent Rep. Ramon “Red” Durano VI will run for vice mayor in Danao City.

Red will run with his father Vice Mayor Ramon “Nito” Durano who is eyeing the mayoralty seat against his brother Mayor Ramon “Boy” Durano Jr.  Ace will face off against either Liloan Mayor Duke Frasco or his wife, Christina Codilla-Frasco.

Red said it is just unfortunate that he and his father will be running against his two uncles.

“It’s unfortunate that we cannot pick our rivals in politics,” he said.

The mayor will run for re-election alongside City Administrator Jesus Don Durano.

Ace said he is ready to face whoever will be his opponent in 2013 while Red said he doesn’t consider running for vice mayor a demotion from his current position as congressman.
