MANILA, Philippines – The Nacionalista Party (NP) on Sunday sworn in Senator Antonio Trillanes IV who symbolizes the party’s anti-poverty advocacy as its newest member.
Aside from Trillanes’ pro-poor stand, Senator Manuel Villar, the NP president, praised Trillanes for his commitment to the cause of overseas Filipino workers.
Trillanes was sworn at the Makati Shangri-La in simple rites. Among the party stalwarts who witnessed the oath-taking were Cynthia Villar, senators Alan Peter Cayetano, Pia Cayetano, Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., Cavite Rep. Boying Remulla and Las Piñas Rep. Mark Villar.
