Former MMA stars fight in Ground and Pound VI

“IT will be a clash of former titans,” said Yawyan Ardigma chief Master Benigno “Ekin” Caniga Jr. referring to the much awaited founder vs. founder fight between Sensei Ben Torbiso of the Durex Dragons Kick Boxing Club and SOMA Kick Boxing Club founder Allan Epile.

The match-up will be the special attraction of the Ground and Pound VI: Invincible at the New Cebu Coliseum on July 14.

Epile, a former Philippine kickboxing bantamweight champion has made a vow to himself never to step inside the ring as a fighter but the challenge from Torbiso, a two time champion in the 70’s world karatedo championships, is something that he just can’t refuse.

The 42 year-old Epile and the 60 year-old Torbiso will put on the line thei pride and glory that they have have accumulated as topnotch MMA fighters for the past three decades.

“Let’s see what he’s got inside the ring,” said Torbiso.

“I am not promising everyone anything except my best,” countered Epile.

The Epile-Torbiso bout is sanctioned by the Games and Amusements Board (GAB). For tickets, visit the Yawyan Ardigma Gym at the fourth level of the Coast Pacific building along Sanciangko street.
