2 low pressure areas to bring rains in Luzon, Mindanao
MANILA, Philippines —Luzon and Mindanao will experience rainy weather as two new low pressure areas were seen within the Philippine area of responsibility, the state-run weather bureau said Saturday.
The first weather disturbance was seen 420 kilometers northeast of Basco, Batanes while the other was seen 420 km east of Mindanao, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said in its 11 a.m. bulletin.
The low pressure area over Batanes is expected to enhance the southwest monsoon and bring scattered rains and thunderstorms in Luzon. Rains will be widespread over the western section of Luzon, which may trigger flash floods and landslides.
Mindanao will experience mostly cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms. Eastern Mindanao will have widespread rains which may also cause flash floods and landslides, Pagasa warned.
The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.
