3 suspects in shooting incident nabbed

MANILA, Philippines—Three men were arrested Friday for their alleged involvement in a shooting incident in Quezon City, police said.

Police Officer 3 Antonio Montero of Quezon City Police District said initial reports showed that the three still unidentified suspects were arrested at a Shell station along Visayas Avenue after the police were alerted at 4:45 p.m. on their alleged involvement in a shooting incident.

Montero said that upon receipt of the alarm, police officers responded at the area where they were seen on board a white Isuzu Crosswind.

“When our police officers arrived at the area, they were told to get out of the car, but they refused. That’s why tension rose between them for few minutes,” he said in Filipino, adding that the suspects didn’t have the chance to escape as they were stuck in traffic.

Asked if they were suspected drug pushers, Montero said that no other information was available as of posting time as investigators were still in the area.
